Safely Set A Mouse Trap Without Crushed Fingers
The Mouse Trap Safety Wedge holds traps open so you can set them safely.

Why Setting A Mouse Trap Is Risky

Meet The Mouse Trap Safety Wedge
This device is called the Mouse Trap Safety Wedge; it’ll take away fear and eliminate the danger of getting your fingers or hand caught and hurt in a mouse or rat trap when setting it. Instead of using your fingers or hand to hold the trigger (the part that the bait is on) let the Safety Wedge do it for you.
How It Works
Setting a trap with a square bait trigger flap
First bait the trap, next set the trap like you would normally do by pulling and holding the square metal hammer down with one hand and place the end of the holding bar into the small square opening in the back of the bait trigger flap. Next hold the safety wedge with the safe area on top making sure you are holding it behind the red line, slide the wedge under the bait flap until the nub on the bottom of the wedge is against the trap with slight pressure, then take away your hand holding the metal hammer. After that slide the wedge back from under the square bait flap. The trap is set.
Setting a trap with a metal clip bait trigger
First bait the trap. Set the trap like you would normally do. Pull back and hold the square metal hammer down with one hand. Next place the small curve at the end of the holding bar against the side and under the small catch on the metal bait clip. Next hold the safety wedge sideways, making sure your hand is behind the red line in the safe area. Then using the wedge end of the Safety wedge place the holding bar in the small groove on the wedge using light pressure against the holding bar making sure the end of the holding bar is under the small catch on the metal bait clip. After that takeaway your hand holding the metal hammer, then pull back and remove the safety wedge. The Trap is now set.
